I am beginning to pick up some old bad habits of mine again, which is abandoning my blog, oops but I have a very good reason! I went back to Johor Bahru over the weekend, which is my mom's hometown, for one of my cousin's weddings! Usually, I'd be too busy to join the family but nowadays, I have too much free time on my hands so of course! I wouldn't pass on seeing all my cousins again, especially on Kak Ana's special day.
We left home on Friday, dropped by my father's side in Seremban and continued our journey. Oh, we even dropped by JPO, Johor Premium Outlet (ok I just totally bantai nama but I am guessing I am right!!), because I haven't been there before. Not to shabby I guess? If you want cheap high end designer brands from past seasons, then it's worth the trip, but for normal brands like Levis, Nike and Adidas, naah. Might as well wait for a few months here in KL. Mama was the only one running around while Papa, my sister and I just had coffee at Starbucks. It was a very short trip cuz we still needed to get to Johor Bahru and actually check-in into the hotel. After that, we had dinner at Stulang and headed to my aunt's apartment to help with any last minute bunga telur duties. We were back at the hotel around midnight and I dozed off almost immediately! Traveling makes me super tired and I never sleep in car rides!
The next day was the akad nikah ceremony. I actually started this post contemplating whether to write in Bahasa Malaysia or English because lately I've been practicing my bahasa (I can speak perfect bahasa pasar but not that good with the real deal bahasa baku) (why am I even explaining this?! lol) and I think I sound good but my friends beg to differ haha. Okay anyway! Had breakfast at the hotel and headed straight to my aunt's place around 10am. Everything went smoothly, Alhamdulillah. My cousins and I even made bets on who'd cry and etc (my uncle did btw haha), it was a great day! We were back at the hotel around 5pm, and relaaaaxed. Used the hotel facilities to the max! Ended the night with a short Skype session with the Shafiq. We've been together for the past 25 months as of the 20th of this month so :)
The next day was the majlis perkahwinan. Helped my mom here and there and my relatives were chaotic as usual :p Love it! I'll let these cliche wedding photos do all the talking ;) We headed back to KL the same night and I joined the group at Darus as usual.
I had a good weekend. It was a very simple and 'homey' kind of celebration, hee. May God bless Kak Ana and Abang Z for a lifetime of happiness!
